Cam Bolts? Differenece in 3.5" lift and 4" lift!?!
I am between a 3.5' lift or a 4" lift right now and the only difference between the two is the 4" has Front & Rear Cam Bolts. What are your thoughts on cam bolts? I do not have enough money to replace drive shafts and there is only a $87 difference between the two! Should i go with the 4" lift with the cam bolts or should i go with the 3.5" and not worry about shafts until i break them?
Do a quick search on Cam Bolts for plenty of opinions and advice. For every one or two people that tell you to use them, you will get 90 that will tell you not to.
Assuming you can keep them from slipping, Cams may give 2-3 degrees of caster. Is this enough to set the caster and pinion angles for a 2door with 4+ inches of lift? Probably not. If you are going to go cheap, skip the 3.5 and 4 inch lifts and just chop your flares.

I would stay away from the cam bolts, myself. Do a search and you will have lots of examples of why not. Good luck!

Skip the cams and deal with flighty handling until you can afford new arms. I am not a fan of brackets, but you could also look into the AEV solution for the front.

I just put a 4" lift on my buddies 2011 and it cam with front cam bolts. I'm not sure why folks around here say to stay away. I fallowed the instructions as to what needed to be done before installing them and it all went well. Got it done and took a ride on the freeway. Got it to 75 mph and did not get any wobble at all. Again, not sure what people are afraid of.
