Default AEV Snorkel + Bushwacker Pocket Flares = Recipe For Destruction?

Hey guys / gals. Is anyone out there running the AEV Snorkel with the Bushwacker POCKET Flares? I'd really like to know if this setup will work. (I already know that the AEV Snorkel will clear the Bushwacker Flatties, because they sit lower on the fender.) Would I be better off going with River Raider, or would that still be cutting it close with the Pocket Flares? Any info and / or pix you could send my way would be very helpful and much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

On a side note, the only snorkel pics I've found in conjunction with the Bushwacker Pocket Flares belong to Forum Member "AlmightyCrash". I've posted pics of Crash's rig in case you haven't seen his setup. Sweet ride, Crash!

Was reading that rugged Ridge has a snorkel that runs through the cowl at the bottom of the windshield that they are testing.
I know it doesn't help with your question but may be another option if the AEV won't work with thepockets, plus no cutting for the cowl snorkel at the latest RR update

Why not call Bushwacker directly to see if their pocket flares sit any higher than their flat flares?

Ya I forgot about the wild boar one. It is a cowl snorkel too. The only thing I dislike about it is that it is fiberglass.

UGOTKERN, I can tell that the Pocket flares sit higher just by looking at pictures of the Flatties. My Pocket flares come right up to the "seam" where the bottom of the hood forms a line with the body / top of the fender well. (If that makes sense.) Whereas, the Flatties rest just below the bottom of the hoodlatch; thus, allowing the AEV to rest on top of the Flattie fender. I fear that by cramming the AEV on top of a Pocket flare, it may not rest level, and go into the hood at an angle, rather than 90 degrees. Not sure how this would affect the seal of the snorkel to the air box...

You have to mod/cut the fender for the AEV...there was a photo of a red rock JK from Canada that did it on here a long while back...and I found it...
