Default 285 75 16 on a stock 2007 JK

Hi everyone, how you all doing? I have a Newbie question concerning 16 inch rims with a 285 75 16 inch tires. I am hoping you experts can help me. I called Quadratec and they told me the only way I can do this setup is if I go with a rim with a 4 inch backspacing. He said the tires would stick out 1 and a 1/2 inch. I was hoping to get away with 4 1/2 inch backspacing so it would stick out a little less. How bad will it rub? What do you all recommend? If any of you guys and gals have any pictures with your setups feel free to post em. Thanks everyone!!

don't know why they would have told you that but you can get away with as little as 5" of backspacing if you really needed to. 4.5" would be a better fit but 4" is overkill for what you're wanting to do.

That's exactly what I went with. No rubbing but I haven't gotten her dirty yet. I figure with the flatfenders I'm planning on I should have decent travel for the light/medium wheeling I'm planning on.
