Default Which Lift Kit for 35" tires?

I was reading the suspension article in JP magazine as they tested several lift kits. I will not be offroading, but would like to maintain close to a factory ride. One of the lifts recommended for this was a Trailmaster or the Superlift/Black Diamond. Any suggestions? Are there any other lifts that I should consider? I think that I will need at least a 3" lift for 35s.

Well, even if you are planning to do some wheeling, I would recommend getting a TeraFlex 2.5" Budget Boost as it will allow you to run 35's and for cheap.

I have the Rubicon Express 2" BB and run 35's It's actually 2.5 in the front and levels the jeep out nicely. No probs so far, mostly muddy trails around here,so I dont do any rockcrawling. The lip on the rear tirewell looked kinda iffy but since thwheel articulates up and back it doesnt touch. I may trim it any way I dont like the way it looks.

Good to know. I have no experience with the RE kit and didn't know that it would work too - thanks for the input

I have this exact setup right now(upgraded 33's to 35's yesterday). It looks great and rides well on the streets (haven't had the 35's offroad yet)!

I have decided to raise it a little more so I'm upgrading to Rusty's 3.25 front and rear springs(a very inexpensive upgrade).

If you're just getting the new coils, it will be an inexpensive upgrade but at this height, you really should get a set of new longer shocks and I would also highly recommend a set of adjustable front upper and lower control arms so that you can set your caster angle.

i have a spacer lift (BB) also. Not sure what as it was dealer installed and they apparently dont know the box end from the open end of a wrench... Either way its 2" or 2.5" and i clear the 35" tires and have been to Tellico playing on the rocks. Yes i was 3wheeling more than others and tucked the fender a few times but overall for the price it cost for a BB it works well. Suggestion, either get one with new shocks or shock extension. The dealer had the factory shocks with no extension brackets and ride was a lil rough and off road i maxed out the shocks quickly

Oops, I should have been more descriptive. The only thing missing would be the control arms. Shocks, trac bars, etc taken care of.
Thanks

Two new kits to consider are the Procomp 4/2 and the TrailMaster 4/2.

The kits use 4 inch coils in front and a 2 inch spacer in the rear. It sounds a little hokey but not a bad idea and it is inexpensive. IT reminds me of the kits that lift pick ups in the front with springs and add blocks under leaf springs in the rear.

It will level the rake on the JK and best of all, it will eliminate front end dive on braking, with the firmer coil. All in all, it will net you about 3 inches total and allow good clearance for 35's. I hear they both ride excellent with the proper shocks.

Wayoflife ,Thanks for th awesome site I've been out of jeepin for 5yrs. The last jeep I owned was an 81CJ7 with a chevy 350 and 8 inches of lift, work done by me , 77 CJ-5 my first at 14 yrs old, built it through high school, had a homade winch built out of a airplane starter pull it would yes oh yes. Again I say thanks because I know zilch about all the new stuff. The RE BB works real well and for $349 w/shocks I couldn't say no for my first mod. Many mods to come, what is your opinion on the spacers with an appropiate lift to give me 5-6 of lift the cheapest way possible. I hate to just get rid of the spacers I already bought.
