Thule and Yakima both make great bike rack models. Can hold 4 boards.

Plus, then you have a rack for your bikes.

I'm leanign towards the method in the thread bellow. I am go to try and clean it up a little more, atleast from the pics.https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-write-ups-39/roof-rack-write-up-hard-top-14347/

The rain gutters will work, but my only concern is that on the 2-door the rack and snowboard will be so far forward, the snowboard may even hang over the windshield. That's why i think adding the channel is better.

Default tailgate rack bracket?

Has anyone tried mounting a ski rack on a tailgate rack bracket?
I am thinking the skies / boards would lay horizontally on the back above the spare tire using a Thule 4pack ski rack. I am sticking with the soft top so mounting a rack to the roof is out.
The other option is the “spare me” bike rack and the ski rack adapter but I already have the 4pack ski rack.

Because I suck at describing:

I did DBB888's track install with the Thule tracks, towers, and crossbars. I have a four door, but I still cut the length of the tracks down with a bandsaw.
So cutting to fit a two door hardtop shouldn't be a concern.
I love the result. I've put my canoe up there (before I sold it), and the main intent is for a "clam shell" luggage carrier.
The hitch will work for snowboards, but the top will look and perform better.
Just my two cents...

here is my solution. i used my old yakima snowboard racks and made a tire mount for them. i'm sure it can be cleaned up, but it works just fine and doesn't look that bad once it was painted to match the exterior.
