Installation of the Tom Woods drive shaft calls for silicone for the Flange. I don't want to put the wrong stuff in there. Do I need silicone gasket maker or silicone lube?

I don't recall that step. Is it talking specifically about grease? And does it actually say 'flange'? I assume that it was shipped with yokes?

If it is about the grease, Tom has some info on his website about grease and maintenance. May be worth a few minutes to look through it all.
Frequent greasing is more important than type of grease.
High temperature rating is important. 300+ is what you want.
I went with Lucas Red N Tacky, just because that was the best that was available at my local parts store. A lot of people recommend white lithium. And I think northridge carries a good grease that you could check out.

So I used the wrong stuff. How big of a deal is it? Is it something I should be worried about? I really didn't see the point of using it except to let it slide on easier..??

I'll keep an eye on that, Thanks. But here in a few months when I get bored and want to show my rig some TLC or PMCS (preventative maintenance checks and services) should I remove it and put RTV on there instead? Or is it just not that big of a deal, so long as there is no leaking...
