Default New gas mileage?

Hey all, so I was wondering... I am upgrading from stock 16" rims and tires on my X to the sahara 18's with 275/70/18 tires... I presume I will lose some gas mileage, but hopefully not a whole lot. I currently get around 20-21 mpg now.

Does anyone have an idea what I can be expecting?!? Thanks.

07 Sahara unlimited never saw better than 18 mpg even with factory. 285/70/17 I average 15 mpg.

Thanks for the honesty! I mean, I see guys posting gas mileage in the low 20's all the time....who are these guys?? What kind of driving are they doing?? Must be all downhill with a tailwind cause the avg I get is 12-14....maximum! I don't drive like a madman and I have a 4dr sahara. Not sure what method it takes to get 20+ but I'd like to know.

I get 16-17 with 35's and a 4.5" lift. Watch your shifts points and don't launch off the line at lights.

I've got a stock 2011 Sport JKU and just took my first short road trip down to my in-laws. Not a long ride...128 miles each way. I topped off leaving and arriving just to check the mpg. Going down hand calculated 20.9 mpg and coming back 22.2.

I traded up from a 2008 Sahara JKU and it got about the same new but dropped 1.5-2 mpg when I added mud tires.

If you're looking to squeeze mpg out of these beasts you got to go real easy on the go pedal.

Forget what the factory mpg gauge says and hand calculate. I do think the ECO light means you're keeping it in the sweet spot though.

I have a 2011 2door sport, with manual and 3.21 gears. I get about 20 avg over the last few tanks with 255,'s. Top speed is 50 in my area with conservative driving.
