Default In 2011 what is the final word on the evap canister, move or skid?

Looked through a bunch of threads on this going way back and still not sure which way to go. I would prefer to relocate it, but don't want check engine lights and ecu codes coming up.

So based on several years experience and threads going back years now, what is the final resolution for 2011... skid or relocate? And if relocate, DIY with parts or which kit?

This is a purely subjective issue. You will find many like myself who went with a skid plate, and just as many that went with relocation. Whatever you feel the most comfortable with. I personally don't think it makes much of a difference, as long as the objective of keeping it from getting damaged is accomplished.

Yah, either way.

I skidded mine just because that way sounded quicker and easier. The skid hasn't a scratch on it yet after a year and a half being on.

Relocate it. Then relocate the muffler. Then enlarge the storage cubby. All of the parts you need are here:

Forum sponsor and Brett Wood, business owner, is a super nice guy with great customer service. He's been known to help people fab up their own evaporative canister relocation kits without selling them anything. And when it took three weeks to deliver my new brake lines, he called, apologized for the delay, and offered me a one-time good deal to buy any of his products at 40% off. And he threw in his hood fix, which stops the hood dance, for free.
