Question Suspension/Tire Size Question

Hey guys,

I know similar posts have been made and I have checked the sticky... but I'd really like to see everyone's take on my specific situation...

I'm looking at going with a 2.5" TF (be it BB with extensions, or with coils, or with coils and shocks) to get enough lift for 35" tires on the pro comp 7069's (with 4" backspacing). What I'd like to stay away from is the need for control arms or cam bolts as well as the need for replacing the front bumper or cutting any of the fender walls or pinch seams for now... do you think a 2.5" TF lift would get me enough room to comfortably fit a true 35x12.5x17r on pro comp 7069's with 4" backspacing? I don't plan on doing anything crazy off road to begin with - will be sticking to lighter trails as this is my daily driver - but I want to ensure I don't rub in any situation.

I've read a few posts about needing to cut the pinch seam as well as having to get adjustable trackbar as well as control arms after the TF 2.5" - then I've read some that don't need it. My Jeep is a 2011 JK unlimited sport (no upgraded coils or shocks)... any suggestions/ideas? A local place has 4" procomp lifts with free installation right now but he's saying they have cam bolts and I *really* don't want to mess with the driveshafts or have to weld anything should I want to go back to stock.

Aside from this, do you guys know if 33x12.5 tires would work with no lift on a stock sport JKunlimited on a 17x9 with 4" backspacing? Just trying to weigh all my options here.

At any rate, I need to get rid of these stock pizza cutters. Thanks much in advance for any replies!

Thanks TheDirtman! Were your 33's 12.5 wide? I used to run 33x10.5's on my 2008 stock JK unlimited, just not sure if the 12.5's would work without rubbing.

I have the 2.5 lift and run 35/12.5/15 and I do not rub anywhere. But saying that if you get 35's you will have to cut your pinch seams.

Is yours a 4door? I see a 2door on your avatar... just wondering if that makes a difference. Also, does cutting the pinch seam do anything bad to the vehicle? Will it cause me any heartache? Thanks !

On the 2 door four door thing I can't really say I don't know. I know when I put my 35's on I only had about 1/2 inch from my tire and the sharp point on the pinch seam on level ground. Cutting it has not effected my jeep at all. I don't see how it could.
