Default 37's on stock rubi axles?

leaning towards getting a 2011 rubi but afraid that 37's on stock rubi unlimited axles will be too much. I had an 07' 2 door with 35's and loved it! I'm just afraid with more weight and a bigger tire i'm going to be breaking things to often. Thinking more about getting an x and doing tera 60's just dont want to spend that kinda of money....

keep in mind im not some hardcore crawler, i go to moab once a month or so and run trails like hells and poison spider. I do some good trails up American Fork canyon to go camping but nothing to crazy. loved my 2 door with the 35's and just the teraflex 2.5" spring lift and want about the same platform and durability in a 4 door. Really just dont want to be breaking and tearing down my rig once a month...

I've been looking into the samething with my 07Rubi.. With Axel sleves and gussets you should be ok. Upgraded axel shafts and ball joints wouldn't hurt either.

No problems so far with my stock rubi axles. Just recently sleeved and gussetted the front axle, and changed out the balljoints. The balljonts were starting to go bad when they were changed. I have 5000 miles on the Jeep, with all but 500 of those miles done before being sleeved and gussetted, on pretty much the same terrain you describe. I wish I had locking hubs, which you can get with the D60s. I don't wish for the extra track width the D60s require though.

You'll be fine. Just go easy on the skinny pedal.

What extra track width? Have you shopped for a 60? I know at least two brands that don't have that problem, and they bolt in...

Oh, I would get c gussets put on your front to be safe. Axle sleeves are nice but mild wheeling should still be ok. Utah is all sandstone. That means the rocks are like sandpaper and tires are supergrippy. This could break stuff where other locations may not.

How much is it so sleeve and gusset an axle?
How much are a good set of axles? what are good axles?
all this is new to me
could I get away with 35's and a 4" short arm lift and have the same capability as my 2 door on 35's and a 2.5" spring lift?

My goal is really to not be over 40k in a new rubi, lift, tires, and parts to withstand the tires...

Exactly! The bigger steering knuckles don't clear the coil spring pad without being wider is what I found when I shopped around.

It can be done if you buy the Rubicon for invoice, or less, and if you do your bargain hunting on the aftermarket parts. $40,370 as it sits. And that is for a Rubi with everything, including leather, and navigation. Do all the labor yourself, excluding ring and pinion set-up.
