Default Question about towing with X unlimited...

So my wife and I decided to get rid of her '05 Silverado crew cab w/3" lift and 35's as she doesn't off road and only uses it to drive the kids around. The problem is is that it also doubles as our tow vehicle!

Now my question is, the most we tow is a 2 place trailer with 2 ATV's or 2 snowmobiles on it. I have an unlimited X with stock gearing, 1.75" front spacers and am running 295/75R16's on it. Its a 6sp. Will I have any trouble pulling the trailer? We don't do long hauls while pulling the trailer, the longest would be 100KM's or so. I know I should be looking at 4.10's, but I don't have the ability to install them myself and don't have the coin to do it yet either. Thanks in advance for your help!

Default towing

I don't personally see an issue w/it

ATVs aren't that heavy and 6 is a lot of speeds

I would just keep an eye on your temp guage..

or try it before u decide to sell the pickup...

however a vehicle designed to tow 8,000 lbs will handle a 3,500 lb trailer a hell of a lot better than a vehcile that tows 3500 lbs...

For sure....but last month I spent almost 700 bucks in fuel alone in my silverado. I was thinking of handing off my unlimted to my wife and getting me a new 2 door rubi!

I tow my 3000 lbs. Bass boat all the time on short trips and long trips 180 miles and you just have to drive a bit slower and you don't have the pick up for passing you did with your last truck. I know I had a Chevy 2500 HD. But I have had no problems towing my boat. Hope this helps.
