Default TJ steering wheel on a JK?

Ok, since the launch of the JK, I didn't like the steering wheel and always loved the Sahara's TJ steering. I have photoshoped the JK dashboard picture with a TJ steering instead, let me see how you guys like it, I might end up doing it for real:

I think the controls will be relatively easy. I would be worried about the airbags, basically due to my lack of knowledge in that area. Is it the same system. TJ looks much bigger. I like the Cruise placement better on the TJ but I like the JK appearance. It reminds me of a CJ wheel.

FWIW it wasn't just the Sahara that had that wheel. My rubicon had it. I think all TJs with the cruise had it. If that helps you find one.

Airbag and other stuff are easy to fix. Sahara's TJ is leather, others are not, I'm not sure about the rubi but I've never seen one since rubis are not sold in this region.

I have an extra sahara steering wheel (which I kept from a TJ that got written-off) don't ask why, and as a souvenir I took the steering wheel :toung:

I also liked my tj wheel better. The cruise control stalk on the jk seems like an after thought compared to the tj.

bleh.. it looks big & outdated. I like the controls better, but not the wheel.

I don't think I would do that swap because the airbags are quite differant and if it is in an accident and doesn't perform properly you could be held liable even years later when you don't even own it anymore.

I like the idea of the controls on the wheel, but it's ugly otherwise. I like the way ours looks.

I like the current look better personally, it reminds me a lot of my YJ, less is more if you ask me. That looks more like the steering wheel off my Mom's '91 Crown Victoria she used to have. This, of course is just my .02, if you like it, go for it provided you can make sure the air bag works properly and be careful about any warranty issues.
