Default Anyone experiencing Gear Whine/Noise with their 5.13s???

I am curious to know if anyone with 5.13s is experiencing any gear noise or whine once the gears have broken in. Also, please state what brand gears you have regardless of whine or noise.

Thanks,
Tom

I think a little whine after installing a higher gear ratio is normal but how loud that whine is a lot of times directly related to the installation of them as well. I have a set of Superior 5.13's (pretty much the only thing available on the market) and they were installed by Off Road Evolution and have to say that I am really pleased with them.

Gear whine is usually because of a bad setup or cheap gears. We install 5.13's in the TJ's all the time with zero gear noise. We have not set up a JK yet though.

Thanks David but I think you quoted me out of context. If you read what I said more carefully, I finished up my statement by adding "...but how loud that whine is a lot of times directly related to the installation of them." And, just to clarify, if they are installed properly (and if the gears are made well), the whine should be negligible to non-existant after they are broken in.
