What Size Wheels Will You be Running on Your JK?
So how about it. What size wheels do you plan on running on your Jeep JK Wrangler? Also, I'd be interested to know what tire size you'll be running with them.

I put my vote for 16. I may be swayed by the poll though as more votes are cast. I was thinking of running 33 inch tires as I figured that won't affect my gas mileage or ride too much. You guys running 35" tires notice the 4-5 MPG decrease that I have read about? Also, is the ride that much different. I am thinking that won't change much over the 33" tires as I imagine the rougher ride comes from the tread pattern more than the diameter of the tire. I will be running an offroad tread either way.
ideally i'd like to be running a 15" pending brake caliper clearance issues. I'm not sure as to tire availability in a 35 for a 15" rim though. But i love the look of big beefy tires on a 15... plus you have a little bit more available tread for airing down.
For me, it's to be stock 17" wheels and stock 32" BFG, probably until the warranty runs out. By then the tires will be worn down enough to justify a new set, and I'll have saved up some money for some black mojaves from AR, or something like that, along with some 35" PJ Dirt Grips (although I also like the new DC Mudders, and the Baja MTZs). I've got to save up for the 3"lift, new tires, and new wheels.
My money that I had saved is going to the Jeep. Anything I have to play with over the next year will go to bumpers and rockers, and maybe a winch. (not to mention those new Intel Core 2 Duos or AMDs Quad processors are going to make my two year old computer look a little long in the tooth- Time to build a new one)

Stock 16" rims, with stock tires. As time and money allow, I'd ideally end up with three sets of rims/tires. One set of studded snows for winter use, one set of very mild tread highway tires, and a bigger set with a moderately aggressive off-road tread. That's a long time away, though...
you don't think that studded snows would be a bit over kill?? I have the stock goodyear SR-A's on my renny right now and i have never even come close to getting stuck in snow.... in fact i drive around in snowstorms and use my recovery strap to yank people for fun... The SR-A's actually did well in deep snowdumps through vermont as well...
abit off topic how are MT-R's in winter conditions, ie. snow and ice???

I kind of agree. We used to use studded tires in the winter back east when I was a kid but that was on a 2WD car. Now, when we go to the mountains to ski in bad conditions, they make all the 2WD vehicles put on chains but the 4WD's just have to show they have them. I would think you could use your off road tires in the winter and cut down on a set of tires.
15 or 16 for me. For winter use, I will probably use Toyo Observe, using 4 seasons here in Quebec is not really a choice as we got ice some time and putting my new JK upside down isin't the coolest thing. As time goes by, I wish to run 37 Irok or Bogger for off-road use and keep the stock one for on-road.
