I was looking at doing a mild fender chop (about 2 inch off the vertical side of the fender) but all the fender chops I have seen they take out or lose the front inner wheel well and you can see the motor and the fire wall. I was wanting to know if anyone has done a chop where they kept the wheel wells or know how I could do it before I start cutting. Also I was thinking about cutting around the side marker to keep it. Here is a photo shop image of what kinda chop I am talking about.

Chop as much off as you want.
I have purejeep flat fenders, with a little trimming of the stocker inner liners you can make them bolt back into position. I'll try and get some photo's later

I, like you , wanted to retain the water/mud deflection capability of the OEM fender liners. Here's how I did it:
To do so, you need to remove the inner liners. I took my liners and determined where trimming and NEW BENDS would be needed in order to fit them back in. I then trimmed them; because they extended beyond the fender edges; and flipped them over and used a die grinder with an abrasive wheel (best way to trim the plastic) to RELIEVE the plastic a little on the back side of the new bends. Then I used a propane torch to heat the ABS plastic at the relieved bends. Once heated, I then bent the plastic beyond the intended bend angle; and immediately cooled the heated plastic with a wet rag; virtually SETTING the plastic in it's new bent form. I then reinstalled them at the factory clip points; and fastened the trimmed edges, via sheet metal screws, to the inner body sheet metal. Pics below….. hope this helps.
