Default KM2 ply question

Hey everyone. After having my JK for about 2 weeks now (2 door Sport) I'm more than ready to move on bigger tires. I am getting KM2's, so that is not my question. I was initially going to go for 285/75R16E, but now am leaning towards 305/70R16D. How much strength will I be losing going from load E to D? I don't think this has an effect on tread wear but if I'm wrong, please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Marty

from my expirence that wont be a factor and the ride will be beter with the 8 ply ive ran 8 ply tires on my diesels for years and never had a prob. rotating and proper inflation.

I believe it is a "pick your poison" kind of deal. Do u want a smoother riding tire or a stronger sidewall? I went with the KM2 over the others because of the on road characteristics. More miles and better ride. Got full replacement plan to cover the lack of sidewall but I have yet to personally see any d rated KM2 get their sidewall trashed where a E rated tire would have survived. You also dont have to air down as much to get the same effects of a thicker sidewall tire.

IMO if you put E load range tires on a JK you will hate the ride. I had D load range and the sidewalls were way to stiff.

I then went to C load range and love them. I know my set up is not for everyone but my 15x8 rims and 35's KM2's cost less than 5 33's for my 17" stocker rims. Just food for thought.

I guess it all comes down to personal preference

Thanks for all the help, I appreciate it. Sounds like I will probably go with the E load and run a lower psi if it starts bothering me.

I prefer the ride of the D load tires on the 4 door jk. To me it feels more like what a jeep is supposed to ride like, or at least what my yj used to feel like.
