Default HEMI Swap

Anyone done it? I talked to a friend of mine here about it. I am tossing the idea around. Any input would be appreciated.
I am pretty sure I can find a 5.7L HEMI in a GC/Commander here for a reasonable price. Any comments as to the adapter kit? What about trans and xfer cases? Will the stock JK xfer case hold up to the HEMI?

You have a Sahara that T-case won't hold up. I am unsure about your tranny. You probably have an auto with the Sahara, but the 6-speed and Rubicon T-case should be strong enough for a stock 5.7.

Post back what you get your donor motor for.

If I get the engine out of a GC/Commander and decide to stick with the auto (yes I have an auto in the Sahara) I would probably go ahead and get the auto tranny with the engine as well. Would the GC/Commander t-case work with the shifter in the Sahara or would it require extensive modding to get it to work right?
The engine swap is the easy part. I used to do this with CJs all the time. If I do this, it will be my first major mod to a JK...other than the lift that it has on it.
