Default Questions for Teraflex lift

Was browsing in 4WD Spring 2011 catalog lastnight and is majorly wanting the 2.5" Teraflex BB. The only thing that im worried about is that it was recommending the gearing ratio to be 3.90+ . I have a stock Dana 44 with 3.73 and was wondering if there would be any ill effects with running that ratio with that lift?

With the stock wheels and tires? Are you asking if it would be ok with larger tires? After market wheels? If so, what size and/or wheels?

That was for the tire size recommendation at the top of the page, it does not pertain to the lift itself. I have 35's with 3.73 gears in my 2dr 6 spd and have no issues with Daily driving or wheeling.

FYI...I beleive with the kit to run 35's you need spacers or aftermarket wheels with bs of 4.5.

TF recommends a max tire size of 35x12.50 with that lift. You will want new rims with a 4.50 or lower backspace, or wheel spacers. If you run your stock rims/tires, you will likely have clearance issues with the rear links.

You have a Sahara auto, so you have a D30 front axle and a D44 rear. Whether or not you regear is a personal preference. Drive with the new tires and decide for yourself. If you want to do some math, open the Drivetrain FAQ's and start plugging numbers in. Be sure to use 'actual' tire heights, not mfg's specs. (for a 35", plan on it being 33.5-34", a few may even be up around 34.5"). That will show you the OD ON rpms. To get your OD Off rpm, divide that number by .69. Generally, you want your freeway rpm's to be somewhere in the mid 2k's.
