Default Sway bar quick disconnects

Hey I was wondering if anybody has made their own sway bar quick disconnects. I heard you can make your own for around $10. Are they any good and how strong are they? Any comments will help.

Would taking the bolts out and replacing them with a hitch pin or something else like it and some heavy cotter pins do the same thing? No welding required is what I'm looking to do.
