RCV axle comes with grease marked "external use only" ???
Got my new RCV axle/cv-joint set up today and just got done installing. Didn't come with instructions, but followed the write-up posted on this forum and it was pretty easy.
I do have one question. It came with a big tube of grease, which I assumed was for greasing the CV joints via the needle/zerks in the end of the axle. However, it says "EXTERNAL USE ONLY!" in big letters on the tube. What the heck does that mean?

that was to grease the shafts before you slide them in the axle tube, at least that's what I used it for since the cv joints were already greased. If I remember correctly, the instructions from RCV stated to grease the shafts. I only followed those instructions, so if I greased the shafts, then the instructions must have called for it.

The tube says " CV GREASE Formulated Exclusively for RCV Ultimate CV's".
I doubt they had special grease formulated for smearing on the axles during installation. I used plain old red bearing grease for that.

I guess I just had a hard time believing we have come to the point that we need to tell people not to stick CV grease inside their bodies. I thought they couldn't seriously feel the need to put that in large print, so I thought I must be missing something. Maybe in other parts of the country this is a big problem, but in the midwest I haven't seen a lot people eating or otherwise placing automotive grease in their bodies.
