Default Opinion on Next Stage

After being put off of mods because of accident, hail and school I finally am starting to save up again.

Here is my first set of real mods for the JK

The Terraflex 3" Lift Kit with Shocks which has
* Front and Rear Coil Springs
* Rear Sway Bar Links
* Front Sway Bar Disconnects
* Front and Rear Bump Stops
* Rear Track Bar Bracket
* Pair - Stainless Brake Lines
* Front and Rear Shocks
As well as the Terraflex Adjustable Monster Track Bar and the Monster Front Lower Flex Arms, as well as some quick disconnects.

And some some 35" KM2's my buddy is giving me for some work I did for him.

This is for a 2 dr six speed is what I have listed all I really need for now?
I'm not really planning on doing any serious rock crawling just maybe easy to medium stuff.

Thanks

I think you can get by with just what you listed. If you do any towing, you will really notice that those 3.21 gears aren't ideal for 35s. The regear thing is beat to death in other threads, so I won't get into it hear.

Oh yeah forgot about gearing thanks! 5.13 gears for me I guess will 5.13 gears fit in my Dana 30? If I do my gears might as well do lockers too.

That is exactly what I did. I got the 35s and after a month or two I knew I wanted to regear. Since you need to replace the carrier to fit 5.13s, you might as well replace it with a locker. This starts to add up to some real money, but it does make sense to do it all at once rather do or pay the labor twice.

Since you have a 6 speed, and 35s you can just do 4.88s. Which is the average ratio for 35s. But do you plan on upgrading to 37s or higher later on?

I have a a very similar setup as the OP except a 4" Pro Comp lift. I was thinking about upgrading to 37's after my (basically brand new) KM2's wear out. I really want to regear soon and I'm not sure what ratio I should get.

Yours is a manual or auto? For auto I would get 5.38. Manual I would get 5.13. But if you don't have a D44 in front and rear the 5.38s won't happen.

Yeah I plan on going to 37's in the far future like in 8 years if the JK is still alive by then. I don't really plan on taking road trips with it because then I'll just pull it with my truck. Would 5.13's be okay for a DD? I only drive around 15 miles total a day.

5.13's with 37's would that be good for the longer distance travels? I'm thinking with 5.13s and 35's I'll be accelerating faster right? So that means higher rpms at 65 mph.

But I don't really need 37's and I plan on passing this Jeep down to my son so I'll just stick to 35's so would 5.13's be perfect for the type of commuting and in case I do plan on going to 37's?

Because wouldn't 5.13s with 35's dominate on the trails?

Little late to respond, sorry lol!

But keep in mind that If you go with the 5.13 with 35s your Rpms will be above average. Which will result in bad fuel economy while highway driving. Not that jeeps don't get bad fuel anyway!
