Default OME Lift Installed report and a question or two?

Just finished the OME lift with heavy duty springs - wow!

This was advertised to deliver 2.5 - 3" of lift; but I just measured the height at the front and rear bumpers. The actual lift is 5.5" front, 5.5" rear.

This is much more than I expected - reports I have read indicated that a lift of 3.5 -4" was to be expected.

The measured change was my stock 2010 JK Sahara Unlimited after installing after market bumpers (Hyline w tire carrier rear bumper, Body Armor quad w/skid plate and Warren M8000 winch front). Both of these bumpers are fairly heavy.

Drives very nicely on the highway at 65 - 75 mph. In fact, I don't think it has any degradation to handling - it is not what I expected w HD springs - very civilized on road! No off road testing yet, but looks to be a real good upgrade, shocks feel solid.

New wheels and 35 Duratracks are next - which will bump it up another inch or so.

One or two problems - my ESP BAS light is now on and the steering wheel is off about 15 degrees. So I have some work to do. Any suggestions??

I will post some photos after my new wheels and tires come in!

This should help with the esp issues too.

Q: How do I recenter my steering wheel?
A: To re-center your steering wheel, use a 15mm wrench to loosen the 2 nuts on the turnbuckle on your drag link as shown in the pic below. Then, rotate the turnbuckle clockwise or counter clockwise as needed while a friend watches the steering wheel (or you periodically check on it yourself) go back to center. Once re-centered, secure the nuts and take it for a drive to check your steering wheel. This may take a few tries to get it on 100% but that’s all there is to it.

Which coils did you get? There are tags with the numbers on each coil. Sounds like you got the +40's?

I don't have spring numbers, can look on the boxes. I simply measured the ground to bottom of the bumpers, fore and aft, before and after the lift.

I'm installing mine tmrw and I sure hope I don't get that much lift because I do not want to start changing driveshafts and whatever other problems associated with a 5 in lift.. This doesn't sound correct. I hate to ask but are you sure your measurements are correct?
Btw where did you buy your lift from?

With that height, it has to be the +40 coils.

+40's are 4-5" coils made by OME.

OME has like 14 different coils.

That tall a spring I'm sure they have alot of bowing ? I had to go check and I have shorter versions . But that is a nice height increase if that's what is wanted ..
