I herd a loud pop the other day going down the road and then my brakes slipped. Today i was turning and on the brake at the same time and i herd a grinding nose then the brakes started slipping again. Everything under the looks good but my axle looks like it may be messed up. Here are some pics is it normal for the axle shaft to sit out this much?

 

Looks like the cheap plastic dust boot that keeps crap out of the tube?

Ok I will any other ideas on what this could be?

 

That axel is supposed to look like that it's normal, I would do the same thing as the above jeeper with the play and brakes, u could have a bad caliper or on of the caliper bolts may of broke or came out, I have seen that cause the same problems and noises, good luck keep us posted
