Default Doing stubby bumper next weekend...ADVICE???

Have SAWZALL WILL TRAVEL....
I did the search and saw all the posts. Is there a best way to do this thing? Masking tape and measuring tapes aside...let's get down to the nut cutting. I would rather not eff up a perfectly good front bumper when I could go and buy a bolt-up deal. This what Jeepin' is all about. DO IT YOURSELF!
So let's hear it. Stubby front bumper with a soon-to-be-built winch plate.

Nut cutting? Dont recall having to do that. You'll only have to trim a few inches of the steel off depending on how stubby you want it. Are you going to put the ends back on? I used rivets but if I did it again I'd use a torch. I saw some pics and it looks good. And paint it while you got it off. Good luck!

Fair enough.
Any ideas on a winch mount for the OEM front bumper? I bet the answer to that will be GET AN AFTERMARKET BUMPER..

For $60 You can get a stubby bumper kit that gives you caps that slide over the shortened ends. This is what I'll be doing, I like the "factory stubby" look.

As for the winch mount, Harbor freight used to have a winch plate.
Dont know if they still do or not.

Just put added a winch this weekend to a stock front bumper. Used a harbor freight winch plate. Easy enough to do, especially if you are going to be "stubbifying"
your bumper...

I used the plastic push in rivets from Lowes. They are holding up very well.

@Danny4562...I like that light bar on your bumper. How did you do that? Was it something you ordered from the stealership?
And yes JK-UTE...it is ok to hijack this post with pics of your winch install on an OEM bumper. I want to see them too!
