Default OME 4" Lift

Have been thinking about the OME Trailblazer 4" lift, but was wondering what else I might anticipate as far as suspension requirements. They claim you can install this lift and have no suspension issues at all, but I have heard that with an auto unlimited there are driveline issues. I currently run a Teraflex 2.5 with a 1" spacer added up front, and would like to get a bit more clearance, as I am planning on 35's down road. I currently run 33's. My rig handles and rides great at present, but I just don't have quite enough lift to suit me. Any suggestions?

you're on the fence of redoing your suspension kit.

look to pay more then the minimum. drive shafts fail over time, each one cost $500.00. the more you wheel the faster you'll lose them.

anytime you go over 3" of suspension lift is when shit starts adding up real quick.

I appreciate the input. I am not reluctant to pay for quality, just do not want to have to do this again. Are you saying that I would need to replace all my drivelines if I go with 3" or more of lift?

you'll eventually have to replace the drivelines if you go with 3" or over on your suspension lift.

I have had my front drive shaft boot tear and i'm still rolling with 3" of suspension. given the facts, i don't wheel very hard... my jeep is 90-95% my DD and I have had my suspension on for about 4-5k miles.

So, YOU WILL NOT have to replace your drive shafts immediately...

But, we can best assume that drive shaft's should be kept in mind when going above 3" of suspension.

The "trailblazer" kit should not even be called a OME kit take a close look at that kit it uses NON OME shocks and spring spacers

David, what do you recommend? Everyone in my area keeps telling me to stay with Teraflex, but I see so many options on the forum. I want to do this right, and once only if possible.

IMO the OME shocks just can't be beat. Great ride on and off road. I recently replaced my Tereflex shocks for OME. Give David a call. It's much easier... so he can find out what you are wanting out of your Jeep/lift and give you the right advice.

OME HD's will give about the same lift as your current coils. Add the 1 inch spacers, and you are right back where you are currently. If you want to go taller with ome coils, look at the +40's.

Here is a thread with pics. And I would guess that Dave could hook you up with them.

From your profile, you have no other steering/suspension components currently? If you are moving up towards 5", consider links and front lower ca's and extended brakelines and adj trackbars.

you can't beat the ride from OME shocks. Had them, now have Rubicon Express shocks and I'll be switching ASAP.
