Default aftermarket lockers and sway bar disconnect

Hello again,

I went and bought a JK 4 door sahara, thinking it would be good enough for the trails since i have never 4x4ed before. unfortunately, i have realized a couple times now that lockers and disconnects would have been really helpful in some situations.

i am familiar with the teraflex S/T sway bar disconnect, but i am wondering if i can go and put in lockers? this might be a really stupid question, i dont know...

thanks again

Take a good look at the JKS Quicker Disconnects before you make any decisions.

As far as lockers, if you're going selectable, it seems like ARB's your only choice right now.

Those ARBs look like a great idea, same with the JKS quicker disconnects. Thanks for the suggestions.

now i just have to prioritize my shopping list!

for the price and ease of install, I'd say just get an Aussie front locker and be done with it for a while. I've wheeled mine pretty hard and love it, I would not live without it now! Northridge4x4 had them for a good deal. less then 250.

also, for the price and ease of install, I would just make my own quick disconnects I used this write up and have ran them for a while and they work great.

I am going to be doing my gear change soon along with an Aussie locker for the D30 front and it sounds like they are a good value for the buck from what I have heard? Hopefully they will have a D44 rear available around the first of the year. So you are having good results with just the front locked? I can not wait to get this upgrade completed

Take Care,

You won't be disappointed with the Aussie, I love it. a little noisy on the street when turning sharp, but I did notice with thicker gear oil it gets less noisy but that is the only down side. I can't wait for the rear Aussie either. Again, for the price and ease of install, you can't beat it. Also you will love re gearing, I put 5.13's in last week, and oh man, what a difference!!

Take Care,
Why are you going with an aussie if you are having the gears changed? Why not the Auburn Ected for the D20?

What exactly is Aussie doing to their D44 locker that will be different? The jk nonRubicons have 30 spline axles and all the aussie does is replace the spiders and side gears which has nothing to do with the r & P which is the difference in these rigs.

I suspect the will come up with a new part number.

The Aussie choice was mainly price for me. and at the time, i didn't regear I just threw it in. Not sure what the hold up is for the rear Aussie, maybe they have to get the correct splines on it? what was the old 44's spline count? Maybe they just haven't had time to test fit?

The aussie lockers are great!

My bro put one in the front of hs bronco (he did the front since it would only be noticed while in 4x4 and not on the street at all) and he already had a limited slip rear.

He goes anywhere.. since then, he has put one in the rear too.. and also in the rear of our dads TJ. Noise is kinda noticable in the TJ since your so much closer to the axle.. but completely unheard in the larger bronco.

But even when he just had it in the front of the bronco, he could go ANYWHERE. For the price and ease of installation, they cant be beat IMO.

He was breaking axle shafts left and right before he put in the aussies. now he doesnt.
