Default Official way to determine your suspension lift?

I currently have OME HD lift and finally got some 35" MTR with Kevler, ended up to be 34" on my wheel. So of course i'm already planning on going bigger but i am going to be piecing it together once i have tire carrier and wench installed. Then i'll getting spacers to lift maybe 2" more. So needed to determine shocks and so on from that point.

Bottom line is where can i measure to identify how much lift i have excluding tires?
Thank u for responses!

As i said i'm gonna add spacers after wench and tire carrier installed. I'm thinking of going 1-2" taller after that so want a way to measure so i can determine what shocks i will need. If my OME gave me 2" but i lose 1" with bumber winch then add 2" spacer i will need a shock that supports 3.5" lift.
So if i have a reference point to measure say from bottom of coil to frame, this way i can buy the correct shock instead of guessing my lift after i frankinstien it together.

Default Lift heights

Chrysler have the official heights for JK, they use bump stop to bump stop heights, so you can compare your bump stop height to that. Or if you still have stock guards, from centre of rim to underside lip of flare is about 530mm. I have surveyed several brand new jeep to get this figure. Also, I think the distance from the front bump seat on the axle to the steel bump cone is about 95mm. in the front.

I don't remember where but theres a chart that will show you how much more lift you gained by measuring the shocks. You could google and probably find it.

OME HD's give a bit more than 3" on an unlimited.

Do you have adjustable control arms and trackbars for the extra 2 inches of suspension lift? Adjustable links to get the swaybars level again? The front driveshaft you will need? How about the flip kit to get your steering geometry back in line? The new longer brake lines?

Or you could just chop you flares and add some bumpstop...

once i have tire carrier and wench
And be sure to post some pics of her hauling around your spare tire!

Here is the plan to upgrade my OME HD.
Next couple weeks buying:
rear/front track bars 0-6” 150
JKS Quicker Disconnects 2.5-6”

Then AEV / Nth Degree Front Control Arm Brackets 3.5-4.5", 4.5" coil springs, bump stops plus OME 4-6" sport shocks.
At this point I would like to be around 4-4.5" of lift and to go to 6" long arm i will only need to be buy liong arm kit plus 2" spacers and of course 37"+. But long arm will be 2+ years after my new MTR w/kevlar wear down.

My goal is build up to 6" but try to get compatible parts for a 4.5" lift.

what puzzles me is actual lift on coils, they seem to not give an accurate measurement such as OME that is label 2" but give little of 3".

So at this point i'm looking for coil springs that will level at 4-4.5" from rear.
Ideally i want a 6" in front and 4.5" lift in rear. This way my rack will be level and when i go to 6" it I will just add 2" spacers, and of course long arm kit.

OME (ARB) is an australian company. They apparently have some kind of law governing maximum lift heights, so they get around it by marketing all 13 or 14 of their different JK coils as 2" with different 'load' rates.

If you want that lift height with ome coils, look at the +40's.

Thanx nthinuf, think this is exactly what i'm looking for, love my OME HD and this is just the bump i need....
Though it would still be nice to have a way to meaure lifts in a uniform way....

Far too many variables. 10 or 15 different stock coils, hard top vs soft top, 2 vs 4 door, auto vs manual, x vs sahara vs rubicon, gas tank empty vs full, whatever I missed. And then you get into the different aftermarket coils and the specific way they were designed, and, and, and ...

The best you could do would be to go down to the dealers lot and find the exact model you have and measure it for the 'before' height. And be sure to crawl underneath and verify the coil tags.
