I've not done anything like this... I'm not afraid of working on my Jeep.

I was wondering who's done this? How long it takes? And perhaps what tools I'll need. I know I'm going to have to buy jack stands and a jack but is there anything special I'll need?

 

I just installed this kit on my 2dr about two weeks ago. It's pretty straight forward. Just follow TF instructions and you'll be fine. I was able to remove the stock rear springs at the same time. The front stock springs I removed one at a time. If you get your jeep high enough before you start, It will make the installation much easier! Total install time was about 3 1/2 - 4 hrs. Just take your time and enjoy working on your jeep....

 

I've had mine on for about a year now, zero problems. It was an easy install, took about half a day. 2 good/high jack stands and a jack with a lot of travel will make the install smooth and easy. you will just need sockets and wrenches, possibly a cheater bar if things are a little rusty. The Tera Flex instructions are very complete and thorough.

Did you have to adjust the steering wheel or have the front end aligned?

 

open the writeups area. At the top is an index where you can find a suspension section. Open any of those writeups. They all use basically the same steps, so just find the one with the pics and steps that you like.

You will also see a DIY Alignment writeup in the same area. It has all the steps you will need for re-centering the steering wheel and checking the Toe. Unless you get adjustable trackbars and adjustable control arms, nothing else can be done, so don't waste your money with a shop alignment.

 

Just installed mine last weekend. Take your time as it can be frustrating. My only complaint is trying to torque the bolts to what they say. I didnt have enough room. A pair of ramps would have help me out greatly.

 

I installed mine last year. Great instructions from TeraFlex. I was able to complete mine alone in about 2 or 3 hours. I did take mine in for an alignment.

 

i got mine aligned after installing the kit. its a good idea.

 

Just be sure to have a can of PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench available for the occassional rusty nut/bolt. Saves a ton of time to spay all exposed threads as soon as you jack her up, then go to work.

 

There's no point on doing a alignment unless you install adj. front lower control arms. All you need to do is recenter the steering wheel.
