Default stock tires

I just put a 3 inch Skyjacker lift on my 08 Rubicon. Skyjacker says I need to get new wheels with at least a 4.5 inch setback. Due to financial restraints I can’t buy new wheels and tires at the same time. My question is can I mount the stock tires on 8 inch wide wheels

That shouldn't be a problem. The stock wheels are 7.5" wide so there's only 1/2" difference. A cheaper solution would be to spend $160 and get yourself a set of Spidertrax spacers and run the stock wheels and tires. You may even be able to find a used set in the for sale section for even cheaper.

Some shops will not mount wide tires on narrow rims. But if you can find a shop willing to do it, you will not have any issues running them.

You'd have to check each specific tire's approved rim size, but if I had to take a guess I'd say no to getting 35's on stock 17's. I'm sure its been done, but not recommended by the mfg. Like nthinuf said above^^^, a lot of shops won't do it because of the liability issues. You may be able to find a narrower 35 that will fit on a 18" Sahara wheel, or a 34(295/70R17?) that you could get onto a stock 17" wheel.

Yes with spacers you can run 35s on stock wheels. That's how I'm set up...
