Default Xrc8 comp rope holder screw size

Mines missing the screw that holds the rope to the drum. I'm trying to figure out what size that it is so hopefully can go to the hardware store and get another. Thanks in advance

Just use some duck tape and tape rope to drum and wind it up.

I wouldn't do it... just because I overly worry about everything... but...

The bolt is NOT what holds you cable on your drum. The cable itself holds itself on your drum, that is why you are not supposed to unroll it but just so far. So, in theory, duct tape would work

I have never done it butI have seen others do it, do a google search on it. that screw is only meant to keep rope on drum while you wind up first couple of wraps, after that the wraps on the drum is what holds the line, there is no force exerted on that screw so I dont c why duck tape wouldnt work. Thats what I am going to do the next time I take my winch cable off, I dont really like that metal screw in there, afraid its going to wear the line, I will let others chime in as to whether this is good idea or not but I have seen it done.

You are talking synthetic line right?
