Default Air Tank Mount Location Options???

I have the Warn Powerplant winch and was curious where I could mount a tank, outside of the jeep?
What size tank should I use?
Air compressors are new to me. I had a powertank on the TJ

Tks in Advance

Unless I am confused there is no requirement to mount a tank anywhere. Isn't the compressor supposed to feed directly. I am really leaning towards a powertank but it was the question of what to do with the tank that was slowing me down. If the compressors also need tanks then I will just go with the powertank and make life easier.

Anybody know if I am all messed up on this. I have tanks with my garage compressors but i thought oba compressors did not need them.

You are correct that the tank is not required, but it helps if you want to run air tools. The powertank is great, but it is bulky and cannot be mounted sideways when used. I like the Powerplant because it is on the outside of the vehicle and out of the way. THe powerplant that I had before was mounted off of the spare tire carrier, but I was concerned about puncturing. I also had issues using the powertank when it was horizontal instead of verticle. The powerplant eliminates these problems and an air tank would just make it that much better.

I have a 2.5 gal tank that I am planning on putting under the rear where the stock muffler is located, just as soon as I move the muffler. I saw a write-up on a Kilby tank that was put under the Jeep, in front of the charcoal canister box.

These are the three tanks that I have been locking at. I would like to go with the largest tank possible, but want to mount somewhere under the Jeep so that it is not visible. Is that possilbe?

Do you have a link to the write-up?

If you move your muffler you can put it where it was on a tj and put the tank where your muffler is now or you cna just put the tank forward of the axle allong the frame rail. i did this on my tj and it worked great.
