Or fab tire carrier qiestion?
Just wondering what the advantages are instead of using say a Lod tire carrier that on the bumper?
Here's the low down. I was planing on getting a LOD shorty bumper with tire carrier. But money seems to be tight right now and I really want to get my spare off my tailgate.
So I'm thinking I should get a or fab carrier and just add the LOD bumper (minus the carrier) later. Anyone else running this?
What are your thoughts? Any photos or information would be great!

Hmm there website says it will work up to a 37" tire. Northridge says 35". Must be old info.
OR-Fab is officially rated for a 37" spare (I think). I am running a 40" spare and Walker Evans beadlock, Hi-Lift Jack and two 5 Gallon cans and I have not seen any issues with it. It is a pretty stout piece of kit, absolutley no rattles or squeaks.

yeah I spoke to one of the Or-Fab guys about it anywhere and they guarantee a 37" and that it will do a 40" but they don't post it because you never know the additional amount of weight someone might be putting on (hi-lift, weight of various wheels/tires, jerry cans, etc.).....it's the tire carrier I'll be going with too

I am almost certain any bumper would work with it. I was running a big Teraflex bumper/swingarm back there and really the only problem was the Teraflex swingarm mount for the spare, very flimsy and noisy with the 35" KM2s that I originally ran. Swapped out the carrier for the OR-Fab carrier, but kept running the TF bumper for about a year. I took the bumper off when I upgraded my rear suspension and never put it back on, in fact I sold it. The other BIG reason I bought the OR-Fab is that we go wheeling for two and three days at a time and are in very remote areas and need to be self-supporting. I don't like carrying fuel in the vehicle and this seemed like the cleanest looking and best solution to my problem. I love the thing.
