Default Anyone have the Body Armor Rear High Clearance Bumper and Tire Carrier?

I'm thinking about getting the Body Armor Rear High Clearance Bumper and Tire Carrier. It is in my budget and it has the rear tow points. Does anyone have this bumper? Quality? Does it Rattle? Is there room for a Hi-Lift Jack? I don't want to spend more than $730.

I've had this for about a year, got if from Bryan (Bustabizz) off the forum. It's pretty solid and built well, no rattles at all so far. But then again I don't know that I'd hear it over the other 50 noises that my JK makes. To get a Hi-lift on you'd have to have a bracket, which I've seen, that mounts one to square tube. There isn't one standard but could easily be done. I only have had two issues with it. First, one of the race's on the bearings was too big and had to be ground down a bit to fit. Could have just been a bad part but added some time to the install. Once that was done it went on easy. Second is the latch failed one day with the u-bolt breaking. A trip to the hardware store and $2 later it's better than new. Now I carry a spare just in case but think it's a design thing and the new one won't break. Overall I'd recommend it, its simple, sits tight to the body, functional, lightweight and looks good in my opinion.

I second that. It's a nice sturdy bumper for the cost. My swing are operates smoothly but the arm installation instructions were not the best - just remember that the bearings get placed into the tire carrier looking like an hour glass. The u-bolt latch can be adjusted to snug up the carrier against the bump stops and be pretty much rattle free. I would recommend this bumper....you also need a 1 3/8" socket to snug down the castle nut that holds the carrier to the bumper carrier post.

I bought the Rock Hard bumper and tire carrier. It has the rear tow points and a high clearance receiver hitch that is rated (not all bumpers have a rated receiver).
No rattles with mine. I liked the styling better than the Body Armor

Thanks for all the feed back. I'll probably be ordering mine soon. My rear tailgate is already showing signs of sagging so I have to get this installed.

I just installed my Body Armor bumper today... and it's okay... Not a hard install but as stated before, the instructions kinda suck.

I'll be loading pictures up next weekend.

I got mine "on sale " for 600 bucks when it first came out. 299 each part...

The bumper attaches very solidly to the frame. I really think the thing is pretty immovable when you get it tight.

I cut the factory third light and attached it to the carrier- works great- looks stock.

Does not rattle, and you can make it very tight against the bumper with latches. Finish holding up great after a year!

Dow nside- had to get mud flaps worked out after I put a lift and 35's on... the angle of the bumper doesn't do much to stop you from pitching rocks at people.

Pics in my profile album...

Any other helpful directions? I'm going to try it with not much help and didn't want my jeep in parts and run into a unforeseen problem.
Any pics?

Tried to assemble the bumper today.
I ran into a problem with fitting the bumper on. If I line up the holes to mount the bumper the contact post (for the swing) is hitting my license plate. Is it really that tight in there or did anyone trim it out? I'm trying by myself so it could be me.
Thanks
