Default Mopar 2inch or 4inch lift

Ok guys heres my dilemma. My dad has a 2009 rubicon unlimited. He wants to lift it to fit 35's and keep his powertrain warranty intact. The dealer has reassured him that if he goes with a mopar lift he will not void his warranty. Was told he will get it in writing as well. So on to the dilemma. We went the dealership where they had the 2" lift installed on a jeep with 35's it looked good but had rubbing issues. So we inquired about the 4 inch started doing some research and one thing keeps popping up, front drive-shaft issues. Now with a 4" lift do you need to replace the front driveshaft? Also if so does anyone know if this drive shaft is adjustable? Part#: P5155119 (mopar shaft, trying to keep it all mopar if possible to prevent from running into any issues.) Also here are the link to the 4" lift and the 2" lift for more information. Thanks in advance for any input and information you guys have on this matter.

Well its rubbing on the fender's and the lower skid uder the front bumper. So I can only imagine how much more it affect articulation while off-road with the swaybars disconnected. Which is why he started leaning toward the 4inch lift.

Default Caveat emptor

Just so that you are informed, a Mopar lift does not maintain the powertrain warranty. The dealer may warranty the lift, but that does not apply to Chrysler or other dealers. The bottom line is the parts you replace with a lift, and any parts that they may cause to break, are not covered by the warranty. Which is the same as any other lift, and some of the aftermarket lifts have lifetime warranties.

This is the wording straight out of the 2011 Mopar Performance Catalog, and the lift kit parts numbers do begin with a P

NO PARTS WARRANTY – “AS IS”
"Mopar Performance parts beginning with a “P” prefix are sold “as is” unless otherwise noted. This means that parts sold by Mopar Performance carry no warranty whatsoever. Implied warranties, such as warranties of merchantability, are excluded. (An implied warranty of merchantability means that the part is reasonably fit for the general purpose for which it was sold). The entire risk as to quality and performance of such parts is with the buyer. Should such parts prove defective following their purchase, the buyer and not the manufacturer, distributor or retailer, assumes the entire cost of all necessary servicing or repair. Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge and Ram vehicle and parts warranties are voided if the vehicle or parts are used for competition. The addition of performance parts does not by itself void a vehicle’s warranty. However, added performance parts (parts not originally supplied on the vehicle from the factory) are not covered by the vehicle’s warranty, and any failure that they may cause is also not covered by the vehicle’s warranty"

And as often as I have heard people state that the dealer will put it in writing, I have never heard a case where that actually happened.

You need to add wheel spacers or get after market wheels with more backspacing

Thanks for your input and I did notice that note from Mopar.

Trim the fenders or go to flats.
Drive over a rock and rip that stupid plastic skid off.

started doing some research and one thing keeps popping up, front drive-shaft issues.
Too many variables for a definite answer, but yes, at that height, plan on replacing it at some point.

x10 My dealer made me that same promise about a Mopar lift, stating that 'they would put the terms and conditions in writing for me'. It went from the Service Advisor to the Service Manager and then to nowhere once they found out that Chrysler won't reimburse for warranty work on Mopar parts. They promised me a dozen things that never happened.

If your dealer puts something in writing Hell will freeze over.
