Air Lift 1000 Air Springs
I know there have been quite a few of you who have contacted me directly looking for a way to help keep the rear end of your Jeep from sagging after loading it up with your entire family and a ton of camping gear. And, I'm happy to tell you that I have found a great solution that is cheap and easy to install...

Yup, what you're looking at is a set of Air Lift 1000 Air Springs installed in the rear of my JK and so far, I can tell you that they've been working well on and off the trail as you can see below...

I got mine at 4 Wheel Parts and paid about $100 for the kit but I think Trail Bud just bought a set from Amazon.com for about $25 less. Check out my write-up for more detailed info and part numbers.
Ahhh, the full gas tank causes the sag. I though it seemed like my jeep sagged at times. Just installed my rear lift and noticed it might be off by a 1/4" or so. Tomorrow I was going to measure, but my tank is full and that explains it.
The Air Lift looks like a great solution for keeping her level all the time. Are you thinking of ever going with the on-board compressor?

"How much will air springs raise or lower my vehicle?
Air springs do not take the place of a lifting or lowering kit. However, air springs will cause the normal ride height to ride slightly higher, if that is what is desired. By adjusting the air pressure, a slight lift can be created, but it is typically only an inch or two. "
Could this concievably compete with a budget boost?

NO. I would definitely NOT recommend these be used in place of a BB as in order to give you the height you need, they will make your ride incredibly harsh and stiff.

Thanks for the great write-up! I have a few quetions:
I know you said the airbags won't work with the 1" Teraflex rear coil spacers that have the spring guide. Is it the spring guide that's the problem? If I got rear spacers without the guide would it work, or do airbags not work with any type of coil spacer?
Do you know the part numbers that would work with a stock JK or 1" rear lift?
When you run the airbags at 5psi (when you're not loaded) is the ride height still higher and is the ride still firmer?

Nice! Are yo sure they can't be installed without removing the coils? It looks like they could be slipped in from the side... Or how about using some coil compressors instead?
