Default Hard to reach Grease Nipple

I am trying to grease the front Johnny Joints on my EVO lower control arms. I have found that I can not get my grease gun fitting onto the nipple because the mounting is in the way. Anyone out there have any suggestions?

Yes, I use this style of fitting and others like it very regularly. You do however have to fiddle with them every once in a while to ensure they are tight and is actually supplying grease to the joint that you are working on. Check the link for the kit similar to the one posted already, this one just comes with all the adapters you will ever need to grease pretty much anything!

I got the 90 degree grease nipple, it does not fit into the space available. I also have the EVO control arm gussets install, so I cannot reach them from the front, only from the top. Would anyone see any problem with removing the zerk fitting and driving the jeep to the parts store to get a 90 degree fitting?

I have Summit Machine Flex-joints in my lower control arms... I used the SnapOn YA799 right angle grease gun adaptor it is flat, It worked for me.

Piece of advise for any backyard mechanic... ALWAYS get the new parts before removing the old.

Try putting a jack under the axle or frame... this might change the approach angle for the nipple enough for your grease gun.

BTW... when I first saw the thread, all my eye initially caught was "Hard to reach nipple..."
