Default Smittybilt Oversized Tire Carrier

In a previous thread there were several people including myself wanting to know how this tire carrier holds up (the tailgate, hinges, etc..) to extended use and offroad use. Could someone with this product please give an update. Also, does it matter what type of rims I have...amount of backspacing or anything like that? Thanks.

Are you talking about the tailgate mounted tire carrier or their bumper with the swing arm tire carrier? Just that you mentioned "strong and beefy bumper", but this part is not part of their bumpers.

I have the tailgate mounted smittybilt and it is a good piece. It doesnt rattle at all and i have taken many trips when it has gotten hit. Rocks are not very forgiving but it has held up.
