Kc daylighters on windshield mounts...
The fed ex man finally brought my lights today for my 2007 Jk 4 door. I got the 6 inch 130 watt daylighters and I wanna put them on the windshield. On the back of the light there is a metal wire loom. How do I run that so that I don't scratch the paint up. It has a little graument attached. I got the kc mounts. Any help would be appreciated.
If you take out the four small torx bolts holding that center vent panel behind the hood down, you can pull it up enough to run the light wires underneath it. From there you can run the wires around to the engine compartment. No grommets needed.
BTW don't over tighten those bolts when you put them back in. It's just threaded sheet metal.

I concure with Seer1, remove the windshield wipers and rectangular grille and you can easily feed wires into engine compartment.
Use the search function for wiring tips and getting through firewall into interior - I found a great tip.....for a positive connection tap into the cigarette lighter so windshield lights go off when ignition turned off....

I'm gonna run the hot wire that feeds the relays back to the battery. Thanks for the replies. I might put some electrical tape around where the wire loam goes thru, so the paint don't scratch. Will that work. I found where the graument is to go into the cab. Thanks for the replies guys.

I had some problems when I installed the lights. The fuse coming off the yellow wire blew. So it took me a little while to find it with my digital multi meter. It didn't blow open, but it measured 56k ohms.
Anyway I pulled a 15 amp fuse off my old trucks fog light harness and it worked. I will post pictures of the lights turned on tomorrow night. They are very bright. Thanks for all the replies. I didn't have time to get heat shrink. I used the electrical tape. Also I had to zip strip the metal loom to the light bases, so they don't hit the windshield or the wipers. No real big problems. My switch is mounted next to the computer port inside the jeep. I'm fixing to upload a picture of that. Thanks for all the help guys. I'm headed to watch dog whispers. Oh yea the other truck is fusion yellow 4x4 fj cruiser in the picture.
