Question Half Doors Pros and Cons

i got the chance to take a black X half doors instead of waiting for the one i ordered (jeep green sahara) which is taking too long and now the dealer is telling me that the delay is because they are having a shortage in material for the hard top !!
Based on your experience ,how do you like the half doors for an everyday car Pros and Cons?
I am tired of waiting for the one i ordered !!

I have them on my Tj and like them alot. I also think its cool that on the 4 door with half doors you can take the front door off and leave the rear doors on and not look dorkie!

I really like the half doors. Had them on my YJ, and wish I had them on my JK X Unlimited.

Mine came with a hard top and full doors. Sold the hard top and put on a soft top. Really wish I had the half doors. Have considered trading mine in for one with the half doors.

We really like to travel in the Jeep, but remove the top and doors when we arrive at our destination. With the full doors, that can be difficult if there is nowhere to store the doors. That is really our main reason for wanting the half doors.

There is a new one that is really well priced on the Carmax web site here in Atlanta. I have been watching it for a month, and it is really discounted ($2,400 off MSRP, not too bad). I was very tempted to trade mine in on it, but don't think the wife would be crazy about me doing that.

I love my half doors. Personally, I don't want to mess with taking the doors off, and I feel like I can still get the experience with half doors. Functionally, the full doors are better and are probably the best choice if you're planning on taking your doors off completely on some regular basis, because you can get the best of both worlds.

You are exactly right.

If I had the half doors, I would probably never take the entire door off.

I had them on my YJ and waited many months to get them on my JK.
It provides more open-air driving than the fulldoors.

i would ask where you live.... because in the north where i am half doors dont make a lot of sense... we get maybe a 3 month span where we can remove the doors the rest of the time its doors on buttoned up...if you live someplace warm i like the look of the half doors whne there is no windows or top on... and my other point is the half door windows dont look very nice and scratch easily ..IMHO ... on the black though they may not look that bad...
