Default LoD Shorty Skid Plate vs. Smittybilt XRC Front Bumper

I currently have a Mopar front bumper and my tires rub on it pretty badly at full flex. Also, it doesn't really do a good job of protecting the e-disco on my Rubicon.

I am looking at going to either the LoD Shorty or the Smittybilt XRC (leaning towards the XRC atm). The LoD Shorty has an optional bolt on skid plate. The XRC looks like it tracks down under the body a bit. Can anyone comment on how well either of these protect the e-disco please? Also, pics of the protection underneath would be awesome!

Thanks a ton as always!

I don't have an e disco, but this should give you sone idea of how far down the Xrc goes. If you want newer pics let me know.

Does anyone have any side shots or possibly underneath shots?

I guess I am curious as to what the LoD bolt on skid plate is meant to protect and if the design of the XRC negates the need for this on their bumper, especially since they don't offer anything like that for it.
