How much trailer weight are you pulling with a 4 door JK - 6 speed
4 door unlimited sport - 3.73 gears, stock 31" goodyears, 6 speed manual
trying to gauge real experiences on trailer weights you are pulling
I'm thinking of getting a boat the total weight will be between 3000 - 3500 lbs which includes the boat/trailer/gear/gas etc.
manual says can do 3500
most boat /trailers at this weight don't have trailer brakes.
yes, i know there is also the gross vehicle weight too.
i would just assume the jeep would bog down on hills
hows the braking
backing up 3500 lbs with a manual - ? clutch burnout ?

Towed a trailer (with brakes) 3250 lbs for 3 weeks on vacation with no issues other than slow up some hills.
I don't think it would be good without trailer brakes though
6 spd manual 410 gears and 33" tires

Had over 2500lbs of floor tile in a U-haul, trailer didnt like it too much but the Jeep pulled like a champ, 3.21 gears and stock tires. 4Low will help alot too not ride the clutch when backing up.
I thought that the stick was rated at 2,500 lbs and the automatic 3,500 for the JK 4 DR. I tow my 14 foot Carolina Skiff cc with no problem, but I think it weighs in less then 2000 lbs, but any type of evasive movement, feels a bit scary when in tow.
