Default Gobi Rack With RTT Pic Request

Hey guys.. anyone got any pics of a 4 door JK with Gobi rack and an Autohome Maggiolina tent mounted to it??

Just want to see how it all fits with that style of rack.. I am thinking of purchasing one.

Thanks!

I get the feeling that one of us is going to be the 1st one to post a picture. Overlander's are a minority. I might get one later this year. I'm going to contact Gobi and see if they have any info on the fitment. I'm thinking about the new Large size. I have the Ranger rack on an Unlimited. The only thing that I'm little bummed about is the complete loss of usable rack space up top. I'm a fan of bulletproof setups and this tent seems like the nicest one on the market, but with an ARB or something mounted for sideways opening, at least you'd get more storage space on the roof. I don't know. Every time I do a mod like this I have to ruminate on it for at least a year.

Well i just hung up with Greg at Autohome US. A super nice and helpful guy. He kind of sold me on the AirTop. The main reason being I'm 6'2" and the mattress size works for that. It has a longer mattress because the lifting mechanism is not inside the tent area. So it's the same thing as buying the 'long' version of some of the other models. The 'long' version on the other ones has too long a footprint for my Gobi. It might work for others, but i have 2 worklamps mounted on the back and I want the RTT to fit between the back lamps and the front lights. The AirTop can do that. It does not accommodate any kind of roof top storage unfortunately, so I guess I'm going to have to learn how to pack better.

I'm not pulling the trigger on this yet for financial reasons, but I think I'm probably going to go with the Maggiolina AirTop Black Storm. If and when I get it, could be a few months, I will post pictures here.

Don't have the magnolia, but I use the ARB Simpson III up there. It is very stable on the Gobi and easy to set up. I went this route because it can be used with an annex, and I have 2 cots down there. This way, our family of 4 plus dog can sleep comfortably. I have lights on the stealth bar and work lights on the rear bar with dual ladders and no interference. Just added the Gobi sunroof insert and mounted Rotopaks there, but there is room for more in this area. If you are concerned about storage, a trailer is a great addition. I carry all kinds of crap in mine, leaving the back of the Jeep open for the dog while driving.

Thanks Blaze, for acknowledging my addiction.... Sorry, the camping pics are old, but only ones I have with tent erected. I have since added 35's and matching Pintlers to the trailer and added brakes. Thought I wouldn't need them at first, but started burning my JK brakes (even with the TF bigbrake kit!) going down some steep passes when trailer was fully loaded (like I said, a lot of crap back there...much of it rarely used...I've got to get more efficient). Along with the Rotopaks, I also added JW Speaker LED headlights this past weekend...these lights look funny but are awesome!

Not a Gobi but here is a Congo Cage with the Small Maggiolina and three with a Medium Long Columbus.

Medium Long Columbus is by far the better fit on the Jeep.
