35" tires for Moab
I am looking to upgrade my 08 JKU Rubi with a 2.5" BB and 35"s, but I can't decide on the tire. I live in Durango, so I spend a lot of time in Moab, on some sand, and up in the mountains by Silverton & Ouray.
So, my question is, what would be the best tire for me if I dont care about road noise and cost isn't an issue (just the flat out best tire for slickrock, sand and rocky mtn trails)?
I am looking at the MT Baja Claws, or km2s.
Thanks

are you absolutely sure you wanna stick with just 35's if your gonna spend any amount of time in MOAB?????? Im just saying if you jump up to JUST 37"s you"ll be able to get IN and get OUT of alot more places then 35's can take you!!! I see alot of guys with 35"s have to use more throttle and "BUMP" things alot more. Guys with 37's can creep over the rocks alot easier, and they can hang with the 40's crowd!!!!
Obviously this is just my Opinion and what I've seen and heard!!!!
You should also check out the Iroks! I have an Uncle that spends a serious amount of time in Moab specifically and thats all he talks about goin to next(for tires)
GOOD LUCK in your decision making!!!!

I would love 37"s, but it's just too expensive to do. Between the lift, tires and wheels, I would never be able to convince the boss (aka wife) to allow me to spend the $$ required to get them. With 35s all I need is a BB and new tires ( I plan on mounting them on my Rubi wheels).

yea I agree with you there, about getting all the space and articulation you can get outta that BB. I also like the looks of the Rubi 17's. I think thats a smart choice sticking with them for a little while!!!!....Cost effective, ya know!

It's new (I don't run them), AND they are only $212 a piece at Sams Club in my area.
I sure hope someone is willing to test them out!
