It has an availible cleaning kit for purchase. They run about 20 bucks. But yes you spay with the cleaning solution and let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse with cold water. Then let it dry and re-oil it. I do it about every 15000. that might be over doing it but I have never had a problem with the filter.

I had them on my vehicles (now using AEM Dryflow). You just need to buy the filter cleaning kit, which is about 10 bucks.
(look here:http://w w w .quadratec.com/products/97001_00.htm)

You spray the pre-cleaner on the filter and let it soak in a bucket of water. It takes all the red oil off. Then after it dries, you spray new oil on it. It's really EASY to do.

Do NOT over oil or you'll be sucking oil in.

Not to highjack, but does anyone know if I can just rinse off my AEM dry filter? It's the red conical one--no oil involved. I assume there's cleaning stuff available, but I can't help but wonder if I could just run it under the sink for awhile and then let it dry in the sun.
