Thumbs up JK Rubicon Unlimited w/ 2" Old Man Emu Light Duty on 34's

Here are some pics of my '09 JK Rubi Unlimited in Detonator Yellow. It's got a 2" Old Man Emu Light duty lift, 1.5" wheel spacers, Bushwacker Flat Flares and 305/70/17 (34"x12") Goodyear MTR's. I've also installed a Carr 'Rota' lightbar and three sets of IPF lights. The center pair on the roof are 110 Watt Rally Racing lights, the outter ones and ones installed on the bumper are cheaper 100 watters. I'm absolutely THRILLED with how she looks and performs. The ride is great and the wheel spacers and stiffer Goodyears make her handle and corner better. I also can't say enough great things about that Carr lightbar. It was cheap, is built strong and has rubber isolators to keep it quiet and to sort of dampen vibrations to the lights. I kind of regret not going with 35's or maybe even 36's. I can't believe the amount of clearance/room that I've got with just 2" lift and those hi-clearance flares!

Thumbs up More pics....

OH! I also should mention that I trimmed the rear of the rock rails by 1.5" and I was rubbing at full turn into the plastic skid plate so I had to trim that.

Did you have to add a tire carrier or replace the rear bumper to accommodate the 34" tire? I'm seriously considering going from 32" to 34" or a 35" but don't really want to be forced to get a rear tire carrier/bumper combo if I don't have to. What did you do?

I still have stock spare. I should get a 34" spare but I didn't want to lose my awesome Rubicon tire cover. BUT, HOWEVER, my buddy has a 2011 JK Rubi and he was able to fit a 35" BFG KM2 on the stock carrier with no mods. It fits snug but works. It just covers a tiny bit of the bottom of his center brake light. I was surprised he could fit it. Also, they make adaptors for both the stock carrier and a brake light extender and I don't think they're too expensive, right?

Looks good! How do you like those Goodyears? Do they handle well in the snow?

I've heard that having 35"s on the stock carrier places too much stress and you eventually start having problems there. But, if it fits into the stock bumper and you can rest most of the weight there, I don't see why that would happen.
