Default Bikini top with door surrounds

I have had my bestop bikini top for over a year now and over the winter i acquired some surrounds so that it could be almost water proof. Today however installing it was a total pima! I couldnt even get all of it under the surrounds it was soooo titght. Is it always going to be this hard? Or does it just need to set in the sun one hot day and stretch out a little? It is prob 65 out right now and it has been sitting all winter in the garage.

Thanks!

Lay it the sun for a couple hours and it'll loosen right up.

X2 on leaving it in the sun. It will be much easier to pull the fabric over the surrounds

Yea the sun helps but they are really tight. I loosened the header knobs a little to get mine on, then reached up and tightened them after it was all secure.

Thanks for the help. I'm just worried that it's gonna suck to take off and put back on and I'll end up selling my surrounds and be back to getting water in the jeep or putting my hard top on and off a lot.

I use sunlight to get the top on. I've also used a standard screwdriver and a pair of plyers to get them in the surrounds.

It may sound like a PITA, but I'm a lot happier with no flapping when the top is on.

I'm still having a hard time trying to get the top into the door surrounds. Any tips? I've left it out all day today, and it was about 85 degrees...
