Default Help with gas mileage??

I have a 2011 Sahara Unlimited with 35" Terra Grapplers and a 4.5" BDS lift. I installed a Volant Powercore CAI and am getting 12.5 MPG. I am running stock gears but still this seems extremely low....I see posts of people saying they are getting 18-20 with similar set ups......HELP????

Any suggestions and or feedback would be apprecaited!!

Hey I posted on ur other post, as soon as these company's come out with a tuner for the 2011's you should invest in one as well as re-gear. I had 3.21's and I was getting about 14.5 mpg with 35's. Do u have a manual or auto?

Gas millage on the jks seems to vary strongly between jeeps - even if the are running similar setups, its very much a crap shoot in my opinion.
the re gear i think is your best bet for better millage

Thanks for your replies! I have a Auto and have not used a tuner to recal the odometer. I have tried the fill and run to empty and fill again....then divided miles/gallons. That is how I came up with 12.5.

Just seems really low to me....I am getting about 250 per tank???

If you haven't recalibrated your speedo, then the number of miles displayed on your odo will be low. When I put my 315/70r17's (35's) on I verified my speedo againts mile markers and a GPS. Both showed 10% error. (E.g. When driving 60 mph on speedo, I was actually driving 66 mph)

You will have to get a tuner, recal to your tire height. Then and only then can you begin to worry about you fuel efficiency.

With your setup I wouldn't expect you to get more than 16-18 mpg. Maybe 20 tops if you drive very conservatively.

Good luck.
