Default Anyone rocking 4.10s running 35s?

With all the regear thread activity ongoing now with going to 4.88s or 5.13s running high RPMs on the highway it's got me wondering what the performance is like running 4.10s with 35s.

Looking for feedback from anyone out there running that setup. I imagine the tradeoff is more daily and highway drivability and less performance offroad.

I guess the secondary question would be how much less performance offroad vs 4.88s?

Where are you really going to notice the difference? Ie. What kind of terrain? Rock crawling or technical trails?

Curiosity killed the cat..... So they say.

Do we get to take transfer case ratio into account?

Auto or stick? I'm running 4.10s, 35s, and manual. I'm switching to 5.13s. I'm also planning ahead for 37s, but I'm not big on the 4.10s with 35s. It's not quite there with the 4.10s, not bad, but I would like more. I think 4.88s would be good, but I'm going straight for 5.13s.

I have 4.10's with a 315/70/17. It's not exactly a 35 but pretty close. It's not bad at all to be honest. WOL had 4.10's on Nemo for a while and even commented that it's pretty decent with a 35. Now 37's is a different story.

I'm running 35"x12.5" Goodyear Kevlars running 4.10s with an Auto Trans - over 10k miles since stock and minimal wear so far on the tires.

On the highway, yes, I wish I had re-geared to 5.13s but now that I have the RIPP SuperCharger installed I'm not sure if I want/need to re-gear. The extra HP has more than made up for the tire size, and then some. I can maintain speed with no problems and if I want to pass, I push the pedal and zoom around the "slow pokes". If I didn't have the SC, I was thinking of going to 5.13 gears, but now I'm not so sure.

I split the difference and just ordered the 4.56s with my 6 speed and 35s. More power, but not crazy RPMs on the highway. My Rubi t-case I swapped in doesn't hurt on the trail either

I'm running 3.21's with 35's and I don't think its bad at all. I can't even imagine what 4.88's would be like..

I'm still running lowly 3.21s as well. Just waiting for my Riddler covers to arrive then a quick paint job and gear change. I'm just not 100% decided on 4.88s yet. I was seriously thinking 4.56s. I don't plan on going bigger than 35s and I am only running a D30 up front. Now if I ever dynamite that thing.... well that may change my choice on sticking with 35s.

Sorry forgot to mention that I am running a 6spd. So the decision is basically down to 4.10s, 4.56s, or 4.88s. There's not much around here for rock crawling or rock gardens. Lot's of steep loose sand, dirt and shale.

Decisions..... Decisions.....

I had the 4.10's in my 4DR Auto for only a week with 35's and I can tell you that installing 5.13's was a night and day difference for performance. Around town I have a bunch more "off the line" power and on the freeway I no longer downshift on inclines and strong headwinds.

I also tow a 1700lb boat trailer on occasion and there is no way I could continue to pull it with the 4.10's - it was absolutely horrible even with the overdrive off.

Also, keep in mind that I am running Duratracs which are actually smaller (a tiny bit) and much lighter than some of the other 35's out there. I can't imagine what it's be like with a heavier tire.

The RPM's on the highway do not bother me one bit, and they are dead on what the chart says in the FAQ's section.

My $.02.
