Default Rear shocks greasy

guys I have a 08 sahara 2 door with a 2.5 rough country lift. I noticed today that both rear shocks have some grease or something on the bottom of them .It looks like it is coming from the bottom near where it bolts on. This is my first lift and it was installed by who ever had the jeep before me and Im kinda concerned that something is wrong. The jk seems to ride real rough when going over bumps and train tracks it will almost jar your teeth out is this just the way a lift feels or could there be something wrong. If you could give me some input I would really apperciate it . Thanks again.

It sounds like you may have busted the shock. Not much you can do other than replace the shock.

Ok maybe a dumb question but can I buy just the shocks for the rough country lift .I think the front ones are still ok. someone must have been rough on my jeep it only has 21k miles on it .This worries me.

How long have you had your lift? Two weeks after installing my RC lift two shocks leaked. I called them up and they shipped replacement shocks out the next day. Their customer service was great.

Don't worry about the Jeep being beat on. Like a previous poster said Rough Country had some bad shocks and they go very quick... You may have to get another brand being RC only sells 4@ a time... Easy fix

I had the same thing happen; one month after installing RC 3.25 inch lift, one of my front shocks were leaking. Called RC, gave then my order number, and a new shock was at my door 3 days later.

I agree, great customer service. They even took a few dollars off on my wheel spacers when I told them I was JK forum member.
