Default JK Videos in 3D!

The following videos have been shot in and are presented in stereoscopic 3D using the GoPro 3D Hero system and other specialized cameras. Te GoPro 3D system works by linking together two GoPro HD Heros using a 3D sync cable. I discovered that Youtube has excellent 3D support which allows you to watch 3D videos in verious modes including anaglyph (red/cyan, green/magenta, blue/amber glasses) and on your new 3D tv with active shutter or passive polorized glasses. My first video is just a test video through downtown Honolulu. So far, I've put together several off-road videos and plan on doing many more, so stay tuned and enjoy!

These videos are best viewed on a 3D display. If you don't have a 3D TV or moniter, old school anaglyph glasses (red/cyan, green/magenta, blue/amber) will work also.

Watch my test video here: added 4/21/11

http://youtu.be/SQ9U-U79FZE Watch "Night Time Island 4Wheelin' in 3D" here: added 11/13/11

After selecting the green/magenta for the glasses I have, works great.. Good stuff.. I couldn't get my eyes to work with the stinger. The people walking at the cross walk was great. Now I'm seeing funny after taking the glasses off...

That's pretty normal with the anaglyph glasses, but you get used to it! As for the stinger, I know what you're talking about. In order to create the proper 3d effect, you must adjust the convergence, or overlapping, of the two perspectives. Unfortunately, when you adjust the convergence of the images for medium, long or extreme long shots, anything close to the camera, say a foot or less, may be distorted. Make sense?

Yes it does, I was thinking about that also,.. the distance of things and the amount of 3dness. I checked out some other 3d vids on youtube afterwords and most hurt my eyes and were to much. I think yours was the best,. well, except for that mario one. That was raw. Can't wait for more. I gotta look into doing that. So, you used 2 cameras linked together?

Ha haa, was gonna show my gf the mario one, it's 3d, but not need 3d glasses 3d... Just well done graphics. I was watching with 3d glasses. lmao, so yours is the best.

Yes, GoPro's 3D kit comes with case to fit two HD Hero cameras side by side and a sync cord that attaches to the back of each. Both cameras are then controlled by one shutter button so that they record simultaneously and in perfect sync.

I've seen those videos too. I think most people just think it's a simple matter of putting left eye camera over right eye camera; even I did at first. Here's a link to GoPro's video tutorial on convergence: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bV9W4XI-EfY
